2004 SEASON RECAP
By Staff Reporter Edward Peña
Well, the 2004 season has come to an end, and what a season it was. Just wanted to take a little time to recap what was accomplished this season, which was by far the best season to date for the Arlington Cobras Baseball organization.
The overall season record was 52-13-0, wow!!
In world series play, the Cobras won a national championship, in the Triple Crown Division I World Series in Steamboat Springs. We also had a top 10 finish in the Super Series Nationals held at BBI.
The Cobras also won a State Title, winning the Triple Crown State Championship in Division I.
We were also fortunate enough to win a very competitive Metroplex Majors League Championship, only dropping one game during the season.
The Cobras won 3 other tournament championships during the season in the majors/nationals division, along with two second place finishes and one third place finish.
What a year you guys put together and Im happy that you let me come along for the ride. It was truly a season that wont soon be forgotten.
I also wanted to congratulate our 12 year old squad on the great season they put together. These guys finished 3'rd overall in the Super Series National Championship, they were the Arc Park league champions, Won the Super Series U.S. Open held in Waco, and they also won three more tournament championships throughout the season. Looks like they had a fantastic year as well, way to go guys!!
Hopefully the Cobra winning tradition will continue on and grow even bigger and stronger in the near future.
A Big Thank You!!!
I wanted to take a little time to say a Big Thank You to everybody who helped make this season a huge success. To all my Coaches, Parents, Family, Friends and Sponsors, Thank You!!! Without all of you, we could not have accomplished everything we did this season, and I truly appreciate it. We all know that it is that time of year again, With high school ball in front of you, some of you will be moving on to other things, teams or whatever. I want to wish everybody luck in their future endeavors, whether it be football, baseball, track or basketball or anything else. I hope you dont ever forget the 2004 Cobra Season.
